On January 15, 1947, the naked body of a young woman was discovered in a vacant lot of Leimont Park in Los Angeles, California by a local resident and her young daughter. She was severed in half at the waist and displaying a Glasgow Smile. Investigators identified the body belonging to Elizabeth Short; the media nicknamed her “The Black Dahlia.”
